Las Palmas struggled to maintain the lead against a good Oviedo

Date:

Real Oviedo signed a goalless draw and managed the hours of the match against Las Palmas, barely reaching Braat’s goal with any risk and had to ask for time against those from Cervera after being a little for the second yellow in Loiodice and find himself in his own place in the final stretch.

The first half was not spectacular in terms of occasions, but it showed a comfortable Oviedo, knowing how to counter Las Palmas de García Pimienta and even reach the opposite area, especially on the left.

The relatively high pressure from the locals forced the leader of the category to play for a long time, and that made it more difficult for the visitors to surprise and overcome the team coached by Álvaro Cervera.

[+] Watch the match summary:

The blues had some approaches, especially from set pieces, but none put the yellow defense in real trouble or meant action of merit for an Álex Domínguez who was almost as calm as Braat in the first half.

García Pimienta did not seem convinced of the script seen until then, and at half time he brought Sidnei and Marvin to enable his team: he did it in the first stages in a personal action of Clemente serving Braat in near post and there was a pass from it to Marvin just minutes after the Majorcan was sent off.

The clearest, however, was for Oviedo who lifted Tartiere with a volley from Bastón hitting the crossbar when everyone was already celebrating the top scorer’s shot from Enrich’s pass.

When García Pimienta again moved to the bench to find solutions with the introduction of Vitolo, Las Palmas were left one down after Loiodice stepped on Enrich who got the midfielder in the second half.

With more efficiency and fifteen minutes left, Oviedo’s chances began to follow each other and became clearer, but the most dangerous was a shot from the side of Jimmy and a saving hand from Álex Domínguez prevented him from getting inside.

Florín tried it in an isolated game after receiving a long ball, but, despite the danger of his cross shot, the ball went to the baseline and the yellows asked for time to get a point from Tartiere, if where they were covered by half a thousand of themselves in the stands.
