Athletic celebrates the Centenary of Burgos with clear success

Date:

It was Athletic’s third consecutive victory in as many friendlies played since the return of the holiday caused by the competitive break. The lions this time clearly prevailed in Burgos at El Plantío, in the Centenary match of the local club. Guruzeta, still in the vein of filming, signed the first two goals for Bilbao and Raúl García closed the account.

This meeting does not have much history. Julián Calero thought more about next Sunday’s league match against Huesca de Ziganda. Valverde, on the other hand, took this clash as a test with a view to the lions’ return to the competition.

Burgos, fourth in LaLiga SmartBank, faced this centenary match with some reservations. Calero chose to split the forces on his starting line. Not all regulars are from the game against the lions. Former rojiblancos Areso and Artola yes.

Valverde, in the manner and manner he indicated days before, put into contention a team that bears many signs of resemblance to the one he will face next Tuesday against Sestao River in the Cup. The lions, in this way, formed with his type of defense with Agirrezabala under the sticks, Zarraga with Vesga with Sancet up front in midfield, Morcillo and Guruzeta open on the wing and Raúl García as a striker.

Suddenly the uniformed lions take off with their second luggage. Raúl García dropped the ball back to Guruzeta and he crossed into the back of the net just three minutes into the game. The people of Bilbao made it clear in the first exchange that they were serious.

Burgos, far from taking a step forward in seeking to humiliate his rival, insisted on his first commitment to a clear intensive withdrawal. In a line of four in defense, five midfielders and only Artola up front; the home team had no choice but to grit their teeth in defense against an Athletic that remained steadfast in its offensive commitment, quickly regaining the ball once possession was lost.

Estimates before the Dani Barrio frame are happening. Vesga, Morcillo, Sancet and Raúl García had their options available to increase the lead before the break. Meanwhile, Agirrezabala attended the development of this first part as a mere spectator.

Calero made seven changes from the start of the second half. Valverde, for his part, decided to withdraw Morcillo to enter Muniain and switch bands to Guruzeta. The man from San Sebastian, on a full scoring streak, beat Dani Barrio again in the first change. Yeray cleared a long ball and it fell to the feet of his teammate, who after great control sent it into the back of the Burgos goal.

Raúl García joined the Bilbao filmmaker party a few minutes after a meeting with no further history since then. Villalibre and Jon Cabo, from Bilbao Athletic, were the next refreshment men for the visiting team and Dani García closed the chapter of changes against a Burgos team that finished the game with ten completely different outfield players players from those at the start of the match. Athletic, all determined, took their foot off the accelerator, giving Burgos the option to cause trouble against the activated Agirrezabala’s frame. Meanwhile, Villalibre forgave the unforgivable in incredible fashion.
