The pilot from Mazarrón and Ana Carrasco participate in charity test in Montmeló, raising 8,154 euros for cardiovascular disease
Pedro Acosta and Ana Carrasco took part a few days ago in the big Spanish Christmas for motorcyclists, which was held at Rocco’s Ranch on the circuit of Montmeló (Barcelona). This is a charity test that aims to bring professionals and amateur riders together to enjoy a day of partying at the motocross venue next to the Catalan circuit. Pedro Acosta, Remy Gardner, Augusto Fernández, the Espargaró brothers, Izan Guevara, Jaume Masiá, Xavi Artigas, Diogo Moreira and Ana Carrasco shared the competition with non-professional pilots of all ages.
On the first day, two 30-minute races were run in pairs and a sprint test in which fans of all skill levels took part. Each paid 150 euros and the top ten classified in the global calculation of the three races qualified for the final test, already with the aforementioned World Cup drivers competing. Undoubtedly a great incentive for any fan.
Trial specialists also took the start, including Takahisa Fujinami or Toni Bou, on a dirt track where this 2022 the Cardús brothers, responsible for Rocco’s Ranch, have chosen to give much more exposure to the fans. For example, hundreds of fans paid a ticket of 3 euros to see the race, which this year was entirely dedicated to ‘La Marató’ on TV3, specifically for research into cardiovascular diseases. A total of 8,154 euros was collected for this charity.
For the second consecutive year, Brazilian Diogo Moreira, a rider competing in the Moto3 World Championship, and Catalan Ferrán Cardús were declared champions of this TT Christmas at Rocco’s Ranch in Barcelona. The Brazilian took victory in the general classification together with Ferrán Cardús, the current Spanish champion on the flat track (a motocross mod without cambers or footholds to grip).
Both pilots won both sleeves and were left with the win. Second place was Aleix Espargaró and Spain’s Ramos, an excellent test pilot. And third place went to Ricky Cardús and Frenchman Tomas Chareyre, Supermoto World Champion. 47 couples participated and there were no falls or major incidents.
«I had a great time. This has been the race of the whole year where I’ve had the most fun. To be focused and concerned about strategy and mechanics, we already have World Cup weekends. I am used to training motocross and this race was a lot of fun. Moreover, we go home whole and without scratches. And that’s what matters,” Pedro Acosta told the website ‘solomoto.es’. The man from Mazarrón will soon start pre-season, with his sights set on the first official Moto2 tests, which will take place on March 14-15 in Jerez will take place. The World Cup starts on March 26 in the Algarve (Portugal).
