Applications rejected – Triathlete with Long Covid: “PVA was the biggest opponent”

Date:

A Covid infection Florian K. tore from his usual life three years ago. The competitive athlete hardly got out of bed, but the pension insurance institution approved the 34-year-old good without the disabled pension. He is not alone with his story.

It all started with a harmless Covid infection in March 2022. “I was in the middle of life, worked 60 to 70 hours a week and just started my doctorate,” says Florian K. The then 31-year-old was prepared for his first Ironman, 13 training sessions were on the program a week. “When all the tests were negative again, I wanted to start sport again,” says Florian K.
