Shots fired in the center of Villach in Carinthia caused a commotion on Friday afternoon. She was fired by a regular customer in a gambling cafe.
The incident was reported by a passerby who stated that a male person had fired shots from a bar. When the police arrived on the scene, the report was confirmed. A regular guest of the gambling cafe fired first in the bar, then twice outside – fortunately only with a blank pistol, as city commander Erich Londer confirmed to “Krone”.
The motive is still unclear
At this point, in addition to the waitress, two other people would have been in the restaurant. The perpetrator, who would have been drunk, was also found there by the police. He had previously hidden the gun behind the counter. “He obviously doesn’t know why he fired,” Londer said. The man was taken in for questioning, where it was found that he posed “no danger”.
He is set free for violating the gun law. 30 members of the Villach police were deployed.
