The bases make the Reina Desserts tournament the most anticipated competition of the year

The national championship taking place at the Club de Campo has broken its participation record; Charo Esquiva and Vicente Oliver triumph in sub-23

The record participation and the prizes awarded have made the Reina National Desserts Tournament, organized by the Carlos Alcaraz Tennis Academy by Reina and held at the Real Sociedad Club de Campo, the most anticipated event among the tennis bases in the Region of Murcia. This year’s edition, which concluded last Friday, brought together five hundred tennis players from the youngest, youngest, children, cadets and under-23 categories.

The competition, which is supported by the regional and national tennis federations, has a historic participation of more than 480 players. Over 550 matches have been played, between the main and consolation draws, in the 9 days it has been played. An unprecedented event that has come about thanks to the facilities that the Real Sociedad Club de Campo has made available for the organization of the tournament. Facilities that this club plans to expand and improve so that in next year’s edition there will be 4 more fast circuits, increasing the current 13 circuits that this El Palmar club already has to 17.

Grupo Reina and MET Murcia Escuela de Tenis, founded more than 30 years ago by Carlos Alcaraz González, father of the current number one in the world, have joined forces and since this course have taken a big step towards the goal of , at the Club de Campo de Murcia, a benchmark for training in the tennis world; and with this goal Reina’s MET Carlos Alcaraz Tennis Academy was born. The consolidation and growth of the Reina National Desserts Tournament is one of the major actions that this joining of forces has as a priority.

This year’s edition has also broken records, both in gifts for the participants and in prizes for the best in each category, as not only the company that gave its name to the tournament, but also other collaborators who have achieved the most expected Christmas tennis event to be held in Murcia district.

In addition, Carlitos Alcaraz, as always, paid his traditional visit to the tournament on December 24 and donated his Babolat Wimbledon racket bag and his Nike shoes + bag from the Australian Open 2022 to the organization of the event, which were raffled among the participants.

The 23-year-old player from Alicante, Vicente Oliver Moratalla, from the Muro de Alcoy Tennis Club, was named champion in the men’s under-23 category, defeating the player from the Club Atlético Montemar from Alicante, Alberto García García in the final.

In the women’s under 23 category, the young 14-year-old player from Alicante, from the Torrevieja Tennis Club, Charo Esquiva Bañuls prevented Amelie Rosadoro, from the Montemar Tennis Club in Alicante, from repeating her victory in the tournament last year.

The minors champions and finalists in the rest of the categories were: Juliana Giaccio and María Martínez (female cadet); Carlos Pérez-Ródenas and Sergio López (male cadet); Sofía Minaeva and María Martínez (infantile female); Iván Costa and Juan Pedro Alcobas (male infantile); Virginia Almendros and Sara Gabriela Anoca (young woman); Álvaro Marín and Álvaro Pardo (young male); Sofía Ivanova and Sandra Martínez (youngest girl), and Francisco Rico and Gonzalo Marín (youngest male).

The champions of each category, in addition to various gifts from the sponsors, won two tickets to the Mutua Madrid to be held on May 5 to celebrate Carlitos Alcaraz’s birthday.
