After the rains that fell in Ha’il, the night from Wednesday to Thursday was worse. The crowd decided to sleep in the press room and I bet in the store. Last day, the rain didn’t stop me from sleeping well. But yesterday the temperature dropped to 1 degree.
I wore thermal clothes to sleep, but at night I woke up very cold. The humidity was high and I could feel the coldness of the ground seeping into my bones. I put on a jacket, gloves, hat, scarf and put my head inside the bag. I woke up feeling like I had been run over by a truck. Tired of the accumulation of efforts, the temperature changes, little sleep and the many surprises you get here. Yesterday I thought the day would be quiet.
MISTAKE. I even lost part of the morning packing the tent to sleep in the press room and getting everything ready to leave for the next bivouac. But what happens next is crazy: Laia’s accident and the uncertainty, a complaint from the FIA in Al-Attiyah, Barreda clarified that a motorcycle stepped on his helmet, Nasser added more fuel to the fire, and when the everything seems to be over, the announcement of changes in the Dakar Plan because the Al Duwadima bivouac, where we had to go today, was flooded.
There were changes in stages and our route and today we fly to Riyadh. It means getting up earlier. We don’t know if in a few days we will be in Al Dawadima. This is the Dakar. Hit or miss in all aspects.
