The American collin morikawa he was left alone in command of the Sentry Tournament of Champions with a combined 16 under par, -7 this Friday in the second round, with Jon Rahm from Biscay five shots back, after his -2.
Morikawa carded a 7-under 66 and pulled away from JJ Spaun and Rahm, with whom he shared the lead after the first day.
Spaun registered a -5 in the second round, while Rahm had a difficult path and, despite his -2, Morikawa broke away.
The one from Barrika started with two ‘bogeys’ on the first two holes and had another on the seventeenth which prevented him from keeping pace with a Morikawa who continued on a clean path, without any ‘bogeys’ in two day. He is tied for provisional sixth place with US Open champion Fitzpatrick
Two shots behind Morikawa were Spaun and an excellent Scottie Scheffler, number two in the world ranking, who delivered a card of 66 shots, seven under par.
The Sentry Tournament of Champions runs through next Sunday.
