Ignatius Alexander Geraldine Jil (Llay Llay, Chile, 27 years old) has been a new player of Sporting de Gijón until the end of this season. The striker arrived on loan from Club Santos Laguna, as reported by the Asturian team through an official statement on Monday.
The new rojiblanco footballer has a long trajectory professionally initiated at the Union San Felipe of his home country. His outstanding performances led to his first European experience with Parma FC in 2014.
After returning to Chile, he defended the colors of Club de Deportes Unión La Calera and Audax Italiano La Florida, where he participated in the Copa Sudamericana. In 2020 he was transferred to Atlas Fútbol Club de México. Later, he joined the Club Santos Laguna, before joining Coquimbo Unido de Chile, where he played last semester.
Geraldine fully international with Chile, where he played four official matches, and was part of the Under 20 team that participated in the Uruguay 2015 South American Championship.
The signing has been confirmed after passing the medical examination this Monday. After stopping competing with his previous team when the competition for the World Cup stopped in October, the footballer began a period of adaptation to the group to join the training dynamic of the rojiblanco first team as soon as possible.
