Spanish tennis had a good day this Tuesday with the start of the Australian Openwith five wins in five games.
In the male box Fernando Verdasco and Carlos Taberner made it to the second round. The Madrid native defeated Serbian Nino Serdarusic 3-6, 6-4, 6-2, while the Valencian defeated American Aleksandar Kovacevic 7-5, 7-6(4).
None of the three Spaniards who made their debuts on Tuesday failed either. Rebeka Masarova continued her good form with a solid win over Romanian Gabriela Lee (7-5, 6-3), while Marina Bassols beat Greek Valentini Grammatikopoulou 6-2, 6-1. The day was closed by Jéssica Bouzas, who defeated the Dutch Arantxa Rus 6-4, 6-0.
The three join Cristina Bucsa and Aliona Bolsovawho got their ticket for the second round this Monday.
