Nadal: “Australian Open balls are worse quality”

Date:

Rafael Nadal He has been preparing for several days in Melbourne to play the australia tomorrow, which will start for him in the early hours of this Sunday to Monday against the British Jack Draper. The current champion of the tournament was asked in the last hours about the conditions in which the tournament will be played and said that for him there is a point of difference with respect to the previous years in balls to be used in the competition.

“I don’t notice a lot of changes in terms of speed on the tracks, but I do notice on the balls. They say they are the same, but the quality is worse”, the Spaniard pointed out a few hours before his debut. Nadal explained the reason for his statement. “It is a ball that does not produce the same effect as before. After a few hits, he loses pressure,” he said.

For him, these balls favor a game effect that is usually not the best for him. “I noticed it was easier to play flatter. I have to adapt to it, I have trained enough to be ready”, he closed about it.
