Athletic has launched a program for minor refugees who arrived in Bizkaia in recent weeks as a result of the war in Ukraine, which includes the reception at Lezama’s residence of “several footballers” from training categories, according to information collected by EFE.

The project launched by the Athletic Foundation with the participation of the Sports Area and Child Protection Area (Aterpe Program) also includes “a series of actions aimed at ensuring participatory leisure” for minors attending school in Bizkaia.

Thus, “sporting and cultural activities were created for this group, including an excursion to Ereaga beach, their invitation to the battles at San Mamés and the Athletic Museum, and their free association with the Lezama Campus”.

Also, “will ensure the process of integrating these children into various sports teams (soccer, basketball, volleyball, karate) and cultural programs” where other entities such as “agreed soccer clubs, the Bilbao Basket Foundation, the Bilbao Choir or Metro Bilbao ”.
