Eva Navarro is back. The Yecla forward scored a double (2-2) against Villarreal after nearly two years in dry dock due to her ordeal with injuries against Villarreal that has brought her back to prominence. The 21-year-old international footballer scored an Olympic goal and then beat the rival goalkeeper with a nice mince. These are his first two goals with the shirt of Atlético de Madrid, a team for which he signed in June and in which he was only able to make his debut a month ago.
“I still have a long way to go, although the most important thing is that I don’t feel pain and can fight. I came back very well and I am very confident. The most important thing is the team, I think we have a great team and we have to keep working to be there,” Navarro said after the draw against Villarreal last Saturday.
More than a year has passed since her last knee injury and the Yecla player just wants to “keep accumulating minutes and regain confidence little by little”. There is a World Cup this summer and Eva Navarro dreams of being on Jorge Vilda’s list.
