The Spaniard will face Mackenzie McDonald for a spot in the third round
Rafael Nadal defeated Jack Draper at the Australian Open. The Spaniard dropped a set but was victorious in a battle against the Briton to reach the second round 7-5 2-6 6-4 6-1 over the injured Draper.
Draper played fantastic tennis to tie the match to a set, but the 21-year-old soon developed leg problems and was left wailing in pain as Nadal closed the match on a warm, sunny afternoon at Rod Laver Arena.
Nadal got a break in the first game of the final set when Draper punished a dubious drop shot attempt with a winner, but the Spaniard took the next six games in a row to win the match as the injured Briton swung away.
Nadal, seeking his 23rd Grand Slam title, will face Mackenzie McDonald for a spot in the third round.
