Two weeks before the winter market closes, the Spanish sports area has intensified negotiations to tie two of the positions claimed by Diego Martínez in the coming days: a right-back and a defensive midfielder.
In the last few hours, the name of young Ronaël Pierre-Gabriel, a right-back for Mainz, has risen, even though he is on loan at Racing Strasbourg. 24 years old and with a French passport, one of his characteristics is his great versatility, so he is able to act both with the right hand to ‘double’ Óscar Gil, and with the left hand, also a bit ‘lame’ due to Pedrosa’s injury even Brian Oliván is doing an outstanding course.
Barring a last-minute setback as negotiations are on track, the Spaniard could make the signing of Pierre-Gabriel official in the next few hours and, in principle, he could go on loan.
The edge is not the only place where reinforcements may come in the remaining fifteen days of the market. Keidi Bare’s injury moved the sports area and pulled strings to rope in a defensive midfielder with a face and eyes to cover ‘Vini’ when he couldn’t play, or to complement him depending on the game.
The Argentine, although of Italian nationality, Gonzalo Escalante, will be one of the candidates. He is at Cremonense and if an agreement is reached, he will be on loan at the RCDE Stadium. Escalante will be an immediate performance boost, as DM would like, as he already knows LaLiga having played for Eibar and Alavés.
