A man from Villach is charged with misusing emergency signals: he called the police emergency number and told about the alleged planned suicide because he needed a taxi.
A 49-year-old wanted to take the train to Villach from his workplace in Hermagor on Saturday evening. However, due to his alcoholism, the man from Villach fell asleep and only woke up at the train station in Maria Saal.
Because there was no longer a train going to Villach, he called the police emergency number at 1:52 am. The reason he gave was his alleged planned suicide.
A patrol quickly brought clarity. The 49-year-old admitted that he saw no other way out. Officers called a taxi to take him home. An official report follows for misuse of distress signals.
