Australia’s Amanda Spratt attacked and took a small lead, then Brown joined in and both took a slight lead in the final stage. In a long sprint between the two runners, Brown didn’t give Spratt a chance and claimed the victory.
The peloton came within 13 seconds of the duo, with Brown taking the final victory. Spratt was second on the stage and overall, 10 seconds behind, while New Zealand’s Georgina Williams was third on the stage and overall, finishing 19 seconds behind the winner.
