A new supporters club of Atlético de Madrid is born, with members from Los Alcázares, San Pedro del Pinatar, San Javier and Pilar de la Horadada
The auditorium of the House of Culture of San Pedro del Pinatar was the place chosen by the Board of Directors for the presentation of the new Peña Atlética Mar Menor, adding to the more than 850 existing ones that have been installed around the world Scattered. The supporters club, chaired by Enrique Tárraga, has members and supporters from Los Alcázares, San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar and Pilar de la Horadada and was created with the intention of evoking the feeling and values of the rojiblancos in the region. At the moment, the Peña Atlética Mar Menor has more than 60 members and almost a hundred supporters. Former player Juanfran Torres acted as sponsor of the supporters’ club and in his speech, after being introduced by the president of the supporters’ club, recalled numerous experiences of his successful time at Atlético de Madrid, under the management of Simeone.
Premiere in Mazarrón of the regional cross-country skiing season
The Media Legua Sports Complex hosted the 1st Villa de Mazarrón Cross Country Trophy, the individual Regional Championship (except masters) and the first day of the Regional League on Sunday. In the men’s under-23 category, Mario Monreal (AC Vinos Jumilla) won, while the overall winner was Alejandro García. In the women’s race, Nuria Alcaraz (CA Torre Pacheco) was first, while CA Fondistas’ athlete Yecla Beatriz Román took first place in the absolute category (33:29).
More than 5,000 registered for the Route of the Fortresses
One of the most important mountain races on the national scene, the Ruta de las Fortalezas de Cartagena is already reaching record numbers. In just five days, more than 5,000 people have applied for registration to take part in the test on April 22. This ultratrail celebrates twelve editions and the continuation is already noticeable in the municipality, with the mountains, castles and fortresses full of runners starting the set-up.
The pre-registration period ends on Monday 23 January. You can do it on the website ‘rutadelasfortalezas.es’, although the maximum number of participants is 4,000 people. Last year, 8,082 applications were reached, so less than half confirmed their number after the draw.
