UEFA removed the Super Cup from Kazan

The UEFA Executive Committee decided this Wednesday to change the venue for the next edition of the European Super Cup from the Russian town of Kazan to Athens, where it will be held at the Georgios Karaiskakis stadium, home of Olympiacos, on Wednesday, August 16 at 21 :00. The decision was taken because of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

UEFA confirmed the agreements adopted by its Executive at its first meeting this year, where it also appointed the Slovak Federation to host the final 2025 European Under-21 tournament.

The competition will have 16 teams and matches will be played at eight venues in eight different cities in the country in the summer of 2025.
