Stefani and Matos, first Australian Open champions

The Brazilian pair formed by Luisa Stefani and Rafael Matos were declared mixed doubles champions at the Australian Open after beating Indians Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna 7-6(2) and 6-2.

The experienced Indian duo were close to closing out the first set he let it slip after going 3-5 and serving.

The Rio de Janeiro couple reacted in time and turned a match which they proved by scoring a comfortable second set 6-2.

Stefani and Matos were more effective on break points after finishing the match with a commendable four out of six contrasted to two out of five of their Indian rivals.

the brazilian Stefani, bronze medalist in women’s doubles at the Tokyo Olympics, won her second major title at the age of 25, while for his compatriot and partner Matos this is the first weight title.
