SPAL Ferrara, from Serie B, made official the signing of Radja Nainggolan on Monday until the end of the season. This Italian team is coached by Daniele De Rossi, with whom the Belgian player worked in Rome for five seasons.
“SPAL announces that it has signed midfielder Radja Nainggolan to a contract until June 30, 2023 with automatic renewal for the 2023/2024 season subject to the fulfillment of certain conditions,” SPAL reported.
He left Antwerp in December after the trouble
At 34 years old, the Belgian international was a member of Antwerp but played his last minute on October 16. A day later, he was suspended indefinitely after being arrested for driving with an expired license and also for smoking electronic cigarette on the bench before the start of the game. In December he agreed to terminate his contract in Antwerp.
Nainggolan thus returned to the country where he built almost his entire career. He made his Serie A debut at the age of 22 wearing the Cagliari shirt, a team he played for until January 2014, when he signed for Roma.
After four and a half seasons in the Italian capital, he signed for Inter, although during his stay at the Nerazzurri club he was loaned to Cagliari up to twice, before he ended up in Antwerp, where he played one and a half seasons . .
De Rossi’s SPAL are fifteenth, very close to the knockout phase of relegation and seven points away from the promotion playoff spots.
