The spear thrower manu quijera has announced on social media that he suffered a ankle injury, which will compromise his indoor track season. Quijera has a sprain that will focus on his recovery in the coming weeks.
“We were already with our sights set on February 11, which was going to be my debut this season. But This past Monday I sprained my right ankle, forcing me to delay my debut.”Quijera said on social networks.
The athlete will undergo an MRI in the next few hours to gauge the exact extent of his injury. “It’s just a bump in the road. Desire is still intact and eager to recover 100% and start competing”, added the athlete.
The indoor track season lives up to the important days on the calendar in the coming weeks. The Spanish Championship will take place in Madrid from February 17 to 19, while the European Championship in Istanbul will be from March 2 to 5.
