The president of the FEF will lead a working meeting next Tuesday in the Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas with Portuguese representatives
The Spanish dream of being able to enjoy a football World Cup again at home, so that young people not only have the reference of their elders about Naranjito and the World Cup-82 gets more content every day, although the final organizers do not have all of them because of the staging of South American bids for Saudi petrodollars.
The president of the Spanish Football Federation (FEF), Luis Rubiales, will lead a new meeting next Tuesday with the aim of “perfecting” the 2030 World Cup project together with Portugal and Ukraine. This already confirmed option joins the proposals from South America, with a contest in Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Paraguay, an individual option from Morocco and the worrying joint option from Saudi Arabia, Greece and Egypt.
«The candidacy of Spain, Portugal and Ukraine continues to meet its roadmap. The meetings between the parties involved are taking place and on February 21, continuing the process, a meeting will be held at 12 noon in the Ciudad del Futbol de Las Rozas, chaired by Luis Rubiales,” the FEF announced through a statement on Tuesday The meeting will be attended by representatives of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) and the work done so far will be analysed.
It will serve to view the current status of the candidacy and will highlight the new points to be achieved within the already established calendar. Additional information will also be put on the table for all sites that have expressed an interest in the most relevant aspects of the project.
The FEF adds that there is expected to be a presentation from the internal work teams, which also have external help, and the dynamics that need to be developed with the candidate sites in the coming weeks. “Spain, Portugal and Ukraine share the dream of hosting the 2030 World Cup with a very high-level project where everyone’s commitment is maximized,” the FEF statement emphasizes.
