They replaced the VAR referee of Liverpool-Arsenal and Arsenal-City

Date:

John Brooks was replaced this Monday as the VAR referee of two important games: Liverpool-Everton this Monday and Arsenal-Manchester City this Wednesday, both in the Premier. Brooks made a mistake on Saturday when he was in charge of VAR in the 1-1 draw between Brighton and Crystal Palace.

in brighton one goal was disallowed, the work of Pervis Estupiñán, due to offside as a result of poorly drawn VAR rules. Andre Marriner will replace Brooks in Liverpool-Everton, while David Coote will be in charge of VAR in Arsenal-City.

Howard Webb, head of referees at PGMOL (the Premier League’s official referees’ association), called a meeting of referees from the Premier itself to discuss VAR errors this past weekend. Webb called Arsenal and Brighton to identify them and explain the VAR errors that hurt them.

In Arsenal’s case, Lee Mason did not follow the guidelines to determine whether there was offside in Brentford’s equalizing goal, scored by Ivan Toney in the 74′.
