Moukoko, six weeks out of Borussia Dortmund

Very bad news for Borussia Dortmund: their forward Youssoufa Moukoko will remain out for around six weeks due to the ankle ligament injury he suffered last Saturday against Werder Bremen (0-2 for the team led by Edin Terzic.

So, Moukoko, 18, will miss, initially, the first leg of this Wednesday’s Champions League round of 16 against Chelsea at Siduna Park. Borussia Dortmund confirmed the attacker’s injury on Monday. The team led by Edin Terzic is 3rd in the German championship, 3 points behind the leader Bayern.

Sebastian Kehl, sports director of Borussia Dortmund, said on Monday about Moukoko’s injury: “It’s a bittersweet message for him and for usespecially at this point in the season.”

Moukoko, international for Germany on two occasions, He scored 6 goals and provided 4 assists in the 18 Bundesliga games he has played this season. He did not score in the 2022-23 Champions League and provided an assist.

Fortunately for Edin Terzic, at the point of attack Sébastien Haller has played again after undergoing surgery in July and then undergoing chemotherapy treatment for testicular cancer.
