Soteras Vigo was elected president

On an election day marked by many irregularities that occurred again and, which will probably bring new challenges, Soteras Vigo is selected president of Catalan Football Federation (FCF) together 503 votes (57.62%); followed by Juanjo Isern with 335 (38.37%); and finally Pep Palacios, with 12 (1.37%). There is also 21 blank votes and 2 null. All in all, they voted 873 members of the assembly from the census of 1,220 (71.56%).

By delegations, Soteras prevailed in all but Lleida, Tarragona and Penedès-Garraf, which Isern won.

Soteras will be proclaimed as FCF’s highest representative until the Catalan Esport Court says otherwise, pending resolution of an appeal filed by Juanjo Isern claiming the exclusion of his candidacy.

First irregularities

Irregularities were once again the dominant trend on the day of voting for the presidency of the Catalan Football Federation (FCF). From early morning, the candidate Juanjo Isern He has already denounced some facts: “The very members of the Soteras candidacy are acting as auditors and even many sub-delegates of Soteras themselves are representing Mr. Pep Palacios, as is the case, among others, of Fernando Peña, in Baix Llobregat , or Karem, in Barcelona, ​​​​​​where the agreement of these two candidates is clear. But the most serious thing is not that, but that, in all disrespect, the same gentlemen deliver notary certificates to clubs at the front door and even in the same room”.

In Baix Llobregat, Isern also explained: “The president of the polling station is Jesus Santiago Perez Checawho is the wife of the cousin of Monica Zapata Guerrerothe CEO’s wife, Jose Miguel Calle, he also said he would ‘kill’ for Soteras to win. What’s worse, this man’s wife, a relative of Calle’s woman, Montserrat GuerreroHe even went to vote for a club from Sant Andreu de la Barca”.

In addition, Isern clarified that in some delegations they were given constitution sheets by the polling station, but in others, they were not even shown: “In many delegations they did not allow us to take a photo of the constitution certificate of polling station and, in addition, at any table they allow the auditors to be less than 5 meters away, making it impossible for them to see the minutes for which club each person will vote ”.

The candidate ensures that they collect all these irregularities “to show, once again, that the fact that the General Secretary of l’Esport don’t put inspectors, give fraudsters a wide sleeve and the most important corruption case in the history of the Federation is done”.
