Andrea Dovizioso will become a MotoGP Legend in 2023

Andrea Dovizioso and Hans-Georg Anscheidt will be called MotoGP Legends in 2023 as Dorna, organizer of the competition, announced in a statement. Italian Dovizioso will enter the Hall of Fame at Mugello (June 9-11) and German Anscheidt will enter next week at Sachsenring (June 16-18).

Dovizioso won the 125cc World Championship in 2004, moved up to the 250cc class and made his MotoGP debut in 2008, with Honda’s satellite team Jir Team Scot taking his first podium in the premier class as a rookie, before moving to the official Repsol Honda where he took his first victory in the premier class in 2009 at Donington Park, and until his farewell to the golden wing he continued to add podiums every season. In 2012 he made his debut on Yamaha Tech3, where he again scored several podiums, before signing for the official Ducati team in 2013 where he would achieve the biggest victory of his career in MotoGP, his first victory in 2016 in Sepang. His most recent victory came in his final season with Ducati, at the Austrian Grand Prix in 2020. The German Hans Georg Anscheidt He was born 87 years ago in Königsberg (now Kaliningrad, Russia) in 1935 and would go on to become one of the most successful 50cc riders in the first decade of the 50cc World Championship. He won his first title in 1966 and chained them until 1968, at which time he retired as champion.
