Oviedo let Albacete escape with his life

Date:

Oviedo let an Albacete escape for their lives this Sunday, trailing on the scoreboard in the first half and, without control of the game, managed to equalize in the second thanks to Albes’ changes, which served to equalize but not overcome an Oviedo that only a lack of purpose prevented him from continuing the path of success at home.

The first half was marked by almost seven minutes when the game had to be stopped when some of the lights went out, a problem that was solved in the shortest possible time after relieving the voltage drop suffered by one of the phases that light the the field..

[+] Watch the match summary:

Before the break it was Albacete who signed the first approaches with two shots from Maikel Mesa and Olaetxea, but the first fell to Braat and the second to the side of the net.

After the restart, Oviedo turned the corner on Bretones’ crosses from the left, although neither Sergi Enrich nor Vallejo managed a clear shot.

What worked well for the Cerveras was the strategy: Bretones crashed a free kick taken from short against a defender and the rebound, chased down by Jimmy, turned into a great goal from outside midfield area, which hit him hard, at medium height and crossed thus preventing the arrival of Barragán.

Nothing much else happened until the second half where Albes’ men tried to come out with another possession and came close to equalizing when a pass behind the Djetei defense by Carlos Isaac to Higinio ended up interfering with Braat .

The referee signaled a penalty for Boyomo’s action on Tarín moments later, but after consulting VAR he withdrew it and the blues lost the option to increase the distances as there was insufficient contact between the two.

Albes shook the head that gave access to Escriche and Álvaro Rodríguez and the effect could not have been more immediate, as an assist from the former seconds after entering served for the latter to equalize, beating the Braat bypass.

The visiting scorer was unlucky, as only a few minutes had passed and in a defensive action he was forced to leave the pitch due to injury.

Oviedo turned again in search of 2-1, but it did not come, even when entering the field of five offensive changes of Cervera -three of them pure forward-, and Albacete came out unscathed from a Tartiere who had to settle for a draw.
