Two guests from a popular restaurant on the Balearic island of Mallorca were surprised when they were mentioned after payment of the invoice on this one “extra compensation” for non -successful starters. When asked, employees were unsuspecting … tried rip -off or just a supervision?
In parts of Italy you have to get to the Coperto, now apparently with “service flat rates” in Mallorca. However, they are not charged for bread, dishes and napkins, but for the non-consumption of snacks. At least one case was announced.
Reimbursement for “no starter”
There are many holidaymakers in their throat: two guests have to pay two euros because they had not ordered a starter. The reimbursement was cited on the invoice under the “No Starter” item.
“We asked for the invoice, paid and when my companion looked at the document, he saw the extra compensation for the lack of starter,” one of the guests of the Spanish newspaper “Ultima Hora” reports.
Person was unsuspecting
The staff was unsuspecting on request. The waiter pretended that he only spoke Spanish, a colleague who was called seemed to be loss. The invoice post was unknown to her. Finally she reimbursed the two and apologized.
Earlier she had tried to find apologies, the – probably unique – restaurant visitor was irritated. According to him, the director of the restaurant was not on site and he could not comment.
No hint in the menu
“I felt that it is credo: if it works, it works,” show yourself “eaten”. There was no comment in the menu.
Reimbursement not -inadmissible
A spokesperson for the local consumer center explains the reimbursement as not permitted: “If the starter is not ordered and is not included in a specified offer, the restaurant cannot charge you.”
