Granada added an eighth straight home victory and moved three points clear of direct promotion with Monday’s win at New Los Carmenes thanks to a late goal from Sergio Ruiz 1-0 against Málaga, which continues without relegation and ends the day eight points from being permanent.
The first half was clearly dominated by the locals, with two clear chances to score in the first minutes, one was poorly blocked by José Callejón and the other was solved by a save by Rubén Yáñez against Albanian Myrto Uzuni.
Málaga, so timid and clueless on the ball in the first half, only made Raúl Fernández work with a weak header from Jonás Ramalho.

The trend continued in the second half, although Málaga were a bit more aggressive and Raúl Fernández had to shine against Lago Junior from the Ivory Coast to avoid a 0-1 draw, while Granada’s best chance was a shot off the stick by Israeli Shon Weissman after a serious mistake by Yáñez.
Granada were turned upside down in the final minutes spurred on by the youngster’s spark Bryan Zaragoza, Yanez He saved his team again against Uzuni and, with the game deadlocked at 0-0, Sergio Ruiz finished off a fine local play in the 90th minute, after Uzuni’s pass, to decide the Andalusian duel in favor of the rojiblancos.
