The players and coaching staff of Elche a minute’s silence was observed as a mark of remembrance for Pelayo Novoformer player of the Elche team for the past decade, at the start of training preparations for the match against Mallorca.
Footballers formed a circle on the pitch of the Díez Iborra field, in Ciudad Deportiva de Elche, and offered an ovation to the deceased player after a minute of silence.

});
The tribute was emotional for Fidel Chaves, Pelayo’s colleague in the Elche dressing room during the 2012-13 season, and for technical secretary Sergio Mantecón, with whom he also shared a dressing room. Other clubs like Oviedo did the same.
The Elche team trained under Pablo Machín to prepare for the visit against Mallorca, a rival where Elche will be with Álex Collado, John Chetauya and Pere Milla due to injury, or with Pape Cheikh, Lisandro Magallán and Enzo Roco.
