Ricardo Tormo celebrated the first day of Racing Legends in which world champions Álex Crivillé, Emilio Alzamora, Pedro Acosta and Carlos Checa, Sete Gibernau and Alonso López participated, who joined Jaime Alguersuari in the tribute organized by the Circuit.
The day brought together thousands of motorsport and motorcycling fans in the paddock and hundreds of classic motorcycles, cars and trucks on display and in action.
Riders such as Crivillé, Checa and Alzamora rolled onto the Grand Prix track after Alguersuari chose the Ossa 250cc where Santiago Herrero lost his life in 1970 on the Isle of Man. In addition, Sete Gibernau, and Moto2 riders Pedro Acosta and Alonso López did not want to miss the opportunity to share this day with the fans.
Emilio Alzamora was “surprised, it’s incredible to see the motorcycles, the cars and the passion that lives here today”, for his part Pedro Acosta said as a public legend of the Circuit, “the Legends are those who came. this weekend weekend at the circuit and show their passion every day” he pointed out.
Álex Crivillé celebrated his 53rd birthday and expressed his feelings “of seeing so many shirts with my name for years after my retirement”. They all took part in a public statement in the Circuit paddock and acknowledged the work of Jaime Alguersuari “who helped a whole generation to reach the top” as explained by Carlos Checa.
The honoree, pilot, journalist, writer, race promoter Jaime Alguersuari is very grateful for the recognition from the Circuit Ricardo Tormo and remembers “the two main people in my career and in motorcycling, one in heaven and the other is in Racing. Legends on Sunday, the first is Ángel Nieto and the second is Jorge Martínez Aspar”.
Racing Legends will close on Sunday with Jorge Martínez Aspar and Moto3 world champion Izan Guevara as special guests. In addition, Formula 1 driver Jaime Alguersuari will wear the suit in which he competed for Scuderia Toro Rosso from 2009 to 2011.
