Great success of Balearic Islands Day to promote equality and inclusion

The Galatzó Pavilion This is the scene of the Balearic Islands Day celebration organized by the Sports Association for Equality and its flagship program Football for Equality. With the support of the Balearic Government, Calviá City Council, Mallorca Council, Palma Futsal Foundation, Ib Dona, Agromart and Hidrobal, we were once again able to provide a fun day full of activities for all tastes.

In the morning we start with children’s workshops Football for Equality, The purpose of these activities is to convey equality, respect and tolerance, in which the men and women of the Hadas Foundation and Alcudia Futsal, San Roque, Juan d’Ávila and AndaPaAllaBobo FC clubs participate.

After the visit of Sports councilor Eva Serra and area councilor Marcos Pecos who had the opportunity to participate in the storytelling activity at the football library.

The participating people also enjoyed a speech on VALUES IN SPORT offered by the Palma Futsal Foundation, given by charismatic Palma Futsal players Francisco Tomaz and Diego Mancuso. The day continued with a fun tournament given by the Director of the Palma Futsal Foundation, Maria Mayans, and the players present, who distributed gifts to all the boys and girls participating in the Workshops.

All participants were also awarded participation medals, delivered by the director of the Balearic Women’s Institute, María Durán, they also had the opportunity to enjoy healthy snacks offered by Agromart Baleares.

Next, as something new this year, the Association organized the first FEMALE FRIENDLY FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT “Dia de Les Illes Balears”, with the aim of continuing to give visibility and promotion to women’s football. Before the start of the tournament, the children’s team of the Alcudia Futsal club and the children’s team of the Sports for Equality Association, made up of girls from the Hadas Foundation who will receive scholarships from the Association to practice their favorite sport and girls participating. in Diada who offered the audience a fight that left us with a clear message that the sport is GENDERLESS.

The sports councilor of Calvià Town Hall, Eva Serra, wanted to do the kick-off, starting the match in which the teams participated: Sports Association for Equality, San Roque, Juan d’Ávila and AndaPaAlláBobo FC.

The Tournament ended with the delivery of medals and gifts by the organization and the Sports Councilor of Calviá Town Hall Eva Serra to all participating teams and the winning team Juan d’Ávila the prize of a trip to Menorca to play in a friendly with the futsal team of the Menorcan club UNIÓN DEPORTIVA DE MAHÓN.
