The International Federation of Motorcycling (FIM) celebrates International Women’s Day with a documentary titled “Women in Motorcycling” produced in collaboration with WebsEdge, the partner FIM Commission for Women in Motorcycling (CFM). with CanAm, BMW Motorrad and MUNER University.
Aiming to raise awareness of women’s motorcycling and inspire the next generation of riders, the documentary features interviews with iconic female competitors in a twenty-two-minute film that shares the inspiring stories of FIM world champions such as Laia Sanz, Iris Kramer and Kiara Fontanesi, along with trailblazer Andrea Coleman and up-and-comer Ran Yochay.
“Women in Motorcycling”, a celebration of women’s motorcycling, showcases three main areas of the motorcycle industry, from road to engineering to racing.
“Once you put on the helmet, gender doesn’t matter,” explained Ran Yochay, a nineteen-year-old pilot. “What matters is our love for this sport and what matters is how we ride. If you’re good, you’re good, it doesn’t matter if you’re a boy or a girl.”
The director of the FIM Women in Motorcycling Commission, Janika Judeika, pointed out that “The FIM is committed to making motorcycling an open, inclusive and generous environment for all. Therefore, the Women in Motorcycling Commission is constantly looking for way to showcase role models that can inspire more and more women to not only join our sport, but also strive for it, regardless of the path or discipline they choose.”
“Joining forces with WebsEdge, BMW Motorrad, CanAm and MUNER University is a great opportunity to bring our message to a wider audience and show girls and women around the world that they are strong, capable, not preventable and above all, with the support of an extraordinary community of people,” Judeika added in the FIM note.
“We are delighted to partner with the FIM to produce a film that explores the challenges and achievements of women in motorcycling. It is an innovative and unique perspective from women in the industry who have made a difference. As a company, we We are deeply committed to promoting gender equality and breaking down barriers, and we know that the most powerful way to do this is to share knowledge and experience through storytelling,” explained WebsEdge CEO Stephen Horn.
