Erik Tenhag, Manchester United coach, urged the team to rise after the historic 7-0 loss against Liverpool and described it as a disaster.
The Dutch coach spoke to the media before the visit of Real Betisthis Thursday in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16.
“We have to draw conclusions (about the defeat against Liverpool). We have discussed it, we have watched the game again and now it is time reset and rise“, Ten Hag acknowledged in a press conference, making sure that he was not disappointed with the performance of his players.
“We are in the same boat, we are in this together. We win together and we lose together. Sunday was a disaster and we have to deal with it,” he said.
Ten Hag also reported that Bruno Fernandes will remain captain despite his attitude against Liverpool, when he pushed a linesman, in addition to other disrespect, such as stopping to chase a rival to complain.
“Yes, he will continue to be captain. He does a brilliant time and plays an important role in the team. He is an inspiration to us, but nobody is perfect and we all make mistakes. I am very happy to have him in the team and I am very happy that he is our captain when Harry Maguire He’s not on the field.”
