The Competition and Disciplinary Committee of the Las Palmas Inter-island Football Federation (FIFLP) decided to expel this season and the next all the regional and youth teams of UD Pedro Hidalgo, after resolving the file for the incidents last January 28 .
That day, at the end of the Second Amateur match played by his affiliate at the José Vega Sepúlveda field against Firgas, the visiting coach was attacked with a knife and the alleged assailant, a fan, was arrested along with a Pedro Hidalgo player. for attempted murder.
The Competition and Disciplinary Committee understands that the events that took place “fit perfectly within the conduct characterized in the articles that make up title 2, chapter 1, section 1 of the Disciplinary Regulations of the Canarian Football Federation which regulate very serious offenses .” .
In file resolution 2223-690, many antecedents carried out by UD Pedro Hidalgo are collected, which “show that we are facing an intrinsically violent entity, as the author of many violations of a serious and / or very serious nature, leading themselves ambiguously as a local team and/or as a visiting team, making such violent acts both in matches played by their teams in lower categories with very low age, and in the matches played by their main militant team in the Preferred Inter-island category”.
The file also indicates mishaps in matches in the youth category, or as in the case of this fight, in a match played by the militant team in the Second Amateur, “it allows to prove that the aforementioned club is having of structural violence”.
In addition, as detailed by the Committee in its resolution “the UD Pedro Hidalgo club was warned on several occasions that in the event of such behaviors being repeated it could be expelled from the competition, ignoring such warnings, which shows complete disregard for the values that are important. aspects of sports and of the sports authority represented by this Committee”.
The competition concludes that “it is fully proven that the UD Pedro Hidalgo club is the protagonist of an undoubtedly violent trajectory, and is not responsible for a specific, unfortunate or isolated event.”
FILPS also agreed that, once the expulsion period has passed, the teams will be listed and, if they re-enter the Competition, they will do so from the last division of the category in question.
Finally, the Competition and Disciplinary Committee punished UD Pedro Hidalgo with a fine of 3,000 euros and closed the soccer field of José Vega Sepúlveda for any competitive match organized by the FIFLP within one year from the notification.
On the other hand, regarding the groups of categories of the youngest, the youngest, babies and cadets belonging to the UD Pedro Hidalgo club, they were warned “that in the event that behaviors of the same nature are now repeatedly evaluated in matches in which they participated, said teams will also be expelled from their competitions, in the same terms as teams of higher categories”.
These warning teams “when they play at home must do so behind closed doors for four months,” concluded the Competition Committee.
