Max Tuñón is a man who would describe himself as a realist. Relaxed, he straightens his tie and offers tea and coffee as the “Crown” stops along Doha’s West Bay for a chat. He shows no signs of nervousness, he is used to annoying questions. Tuñón, who previously lived in Panama and the US, was sent to the sweltering city of Doha by the International Labor Organization (ILO) in 2018 after heavy criticism over the deaths at World Cup construction sites in Qatar.
