Teto: “For a canary this is a special game”

Date:

CD Tenerife player Alberto Martín ‘Teto’ maintains that, for a Canarian player, the derby against UD Las Palmas is “a special match, which is not experienced every weekend, but twice a year”.

Because of this, the young footballer from Tenerife will face a “special and beautiful” match next Saturday at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium, and he knows what it means because he has experienced it before as a fan.

“We have to give everything to end up happy. You always think about what can happen, you think about where you will be hurt and how the opponent will do to you, but until the game comes, you don’t know”, declared the homegrown midfielder against the most awaited match of the highest rivalry in the region.

Teto believes that footballers should set themselves “short and long-term goals”, and that the ideal would be to play the Canarian derby “in the First Division”, but now it is “difficult” for that situation to happen, so they should focus next Saturday, where they are “excited”.
