With goals from Dusan Tadic and Dusan Vlahovic, Serbia beat Lithuania 2-0 and made its debut in the qualifying phase for Euro 2024 in Germany with the victory helping the Balkan team top group G ahead of Montenegro ( beat Bulgaria 0-1 on its debut).
Serbia recovered from the disappointment of the World Cup in Qatar (it did not go beyond the first stage) with three solvent points against Lithuania, which fell thanks to the performance of the two stars of the team led by Dragan Stojkovic. Between Tadic and Vlahovic, they ended up with an overly defensive strategy that didn’t give any profit to their rival.
Tadic, after taking advantage of an assist from Filip Kostic, opened the scoring after a quarter of an hour. And then, in the second half, Tadic himself managed to give Vlahovic the second and final goal of a quiet night for Serbia, which started its path to the Euro Cup in Germany on the right foot.
