Postigo and Lawlor, stars in El Prat; Salama and De la Riva, co-leaders

Sometimes we are not only looking for good results in a golf tournament, there are other reasons why this sport is good, and one of them is the spirit of improvement. This is the story of two talented G4D players of Adapted Golf, Juan Postigo and Brendan Lawlor, who were very happy in this first round of the II PGAe Open in Barcelona hosted by Pablo Larrazábal.

Juan Postigo, current champion of Spain and Europe in Adapted Golf and recent winner of the Hero Cup Abu Dhabi G4D, despite having the opportunity to play with a buggy in this round, declined the offer despite only playing with one leg (from birth ) and walked the entire route of RGC El Prat.

“The truth is that I am very happy and I have to thank Pablo (Larrazábal) and the PGA for giving me this opportunity to return to a tournament on the PGA circuit. The first part is hard, as is for the 130 players here, but hey. I had a great time playing with Alfredo (García Heredia) and with Pablo, which is the important thing”, said Juan Postigo.

The classification is led by Madrid, CCVM professional, Juan Salama with 70 shots (-2), the same as local Eduardo de la Riva, who used experience to stay at the top. Both got the last birdie on the last two holes.

In the back, Asier Aguirre with 71 blows, one to the head; followed by Víctor García, who after a difficult start with three bogeys in the first six holes was able to overcome the pressure, especially with that eagle on 9 that put him back on track.

They were the only sub-par players on the field. Dani Berná, one of the favorites, is fifth at par in the field. Alfredo García Heredia started well but on the last nine he signed 4 bogeys and finished in 31st place.
