“I assure you this gang will not give up”

Raúl García took to social networks to express his feelings after Athletic’s elimination from the cup against Osasuna. The Navarrese footballer, who in a video at the end of the match against the rojillos can be seen entering the visiting dressing room congratulating the players of Jagoba Arrasate one by one, took advantage of his Instagram account to reflect on what happened in San Mamés.

“I’ve been sad, very sad for two days. We had a goal and we were very close to being able to achieve it. The constant support and strength that our fans gave us… I have no words to thank you. You really don’t know what it feels like to play there and hear the roar of San Mamés”, he commented for the first time.

Raúl García used emotion to continue his reflection: “If I am proud of something, it is to be one of this group that wears the Athletic shirt. I see them every day giving their lives for this shield and I will continue to trust them until the last day. I will always be there when they need me the most. I assure you that this crew will never give up. Falling down and getting up, that’s what this sport is about”.

Before ending his message, Athletic’s veteran footballer showed his support to Nico Williams for the insults and disrespect received after the elimination against Osasuna: “I have been at the highest level for almost twenty years and in all this time I learned that Constructive criticism and, above all, self-criticism made me a better soccer player, but disrespect made me believe more than I am. Aupa Athletic!”
