This Tuesday, on the same day that it emerged that Marco Reus will renew his contract by significantly reducing his salary, Borussia Dortmund announced the extension of the agreement of another of its key players.
It treats the German international midfield player Julian Brandt, who signed for two more seasons, so he will now be linked to Dortmund until June 30, 2026.

Brandt, 26, arrived at Signal Iduna Park in the summer of 2019 from Bayer Leverkusen and he has played 120 Bundesliga games in a Borussia shirt, scoring 23 goals and providing 22 assists.
His contract extension ends speculation about the future of the skilled midfielder, who has been closely followed by Arsenal. Brandt is having an extraordinary time, He is the team’s top scorer with eight goals in the Bundesliga and has been selected the best player of the German championship in the months of January and February.
Convinced to win titles
In a press release issued by Borussia, Brandt confirmed that he was “in the right place” in Dortmund and can’t wait to experience the “next seasons in black and yellow”.
“I’m sure we’ll have a chance to celebrate something big together,” Brandt added. Seven days from the end of the Bundesliga, Dortmund is second, just two points behind Bayern Munich, champion of the ten previous editions of the championship and where they hold an exciting match to end their hegemony.
Dortmund highlights its improvement in performance
For his part, Sebastian Kehl, sporting director of Dortmund, highlights that Brandt has significantly improved his performance over the past year and praises his biggest contribution to the team’s game when the ball is not in his possession.
“We are happy that he has decided to continue shaping the sporting future of Borussia Dortmund as a top player,” stressed Kehl.
