A stellar group of former soccer stars and elite coaches will meet next Monday the 24th for the inaugural meeting of the ‘UEFA Football Board‘.
It is an advisory body, approved by UEFA Executive Committee in their last meeting at Lisbon earlier this month, designed to provide an institutional but independent voice of expertise and knowledge on key issues related to football, including the Laws of the Game, refereeing, match calendars, elite youth development and the welfare of the players.
The members of ‘UEFA Football Board‘ are selected on the basis of their outstanding achievements in club or national football team, their impeccable international reputation and extensive experience.
UEFA Technical Director and Head of Football, Zvonimir Bobanchair the meeting. He will be supported by Giorgio Marchetti, UEFA’s Deputy General Secretary and Director of Football, on competition-related matters, and UEFA’s Head of Refereeing, Roberto Rosetti, on referee-related matters. These meetings will be annual appointments in the UEFA calendar, but members will also meet as needed.

Within this select group is the coach of Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti and the former white bank manager, Zidane Zidane. The presence of former white club player, Gareth Bale who announced his retirement after the World Cup in Qatar.
The payroll also includes José Mourinho, Fabio Capello, Ronald Koeman and others. As Spanish representatives are the current Portuguese coach, Roberto Martínez and the former player Juan killed. A total of 24 sports football personalities make up this new body.
The agenda for the first meeting includes debates on refereeing issues that are currently on everyone’s lips, such as UEFA’s intervention line, VAR, players’ hands and behaviour, and competition-related matters and medical aspects.
