The British Elfyn Evans (Toyota GR Yaris) claimed victory in Rally Croatiafourth round of the world championship, ahead of Estonian Ott Tanak (Ford) and Finn Esapekka Lappi (Hyundai).
The French Sebastien Ogier (Toyota) despite finishing in fifth position, continues to lead the overall classificationalthough tied to Evans.
Evans, who has not won a test since Rally Finland in 2021, took his record sixth winand just after crossing the finish line, he remembered Craig Breen who died in an accident while preparing his participation in Croatia.
The Hyundai team wanted to honor Breen but Thierry Neuville’s accident on Saturday morning he dashed his aspirations, so Lappi’s third place almost tasted victory.
“We miss our friend, that’s all we can think about, about him. We had promised to have fun this weekend despite everything, we did. I’m sure he saw us,” Evans said.
