The Spanish pilot Lawrence Santolino (Sherco) achieved success in third day of the Morocco Desert Challenge rallya 410-kilometer special course without liaisons, where he leads 400, opening the track and sailing alone.
The man from Salamanca, who had already won the previous stage and overcame a mistake on the course this time, was second overall as he approached the lead, held by his brand mate, Portuguese Rui Gonçalves.
“I felt comfortable, I tried to open the track with a good speed from the start and I think I succeeded. I found myself very well all the time in the roadbook, there is a lot of information, a lot of notes, maybe too many, and on the other hand, some references are missing, like a course or decisive points,” he said .
“Happy with the result, with the stage victory, and with the covered 400 kilometers of the opening track, it’s a great practice to keep sailing. We experienced some tire consumption because there were many kilometers on hard tracks, but the bike worked perfectly”, he added before focusing on the fourth stage, with 291 timed kilometers of special start and finish in Foum Zguid.
