As expected, the referee appointed to lead the final of the Copa del Rey at the interval real Madrid and Osasuna this coming May 6 at La Cartuja in Seville Jose Luis Sanchez Martinez.
The Technical Committee of Referees, led by Luis Medina Cantalejodecided unanimously to reward the career of a referee who will experience his first final of Copa del Rey at 39 years old.
The news of the appointment, announced by the CTA, brought an emotional video of the conversation between the referee and the president of the CTA in which the latter, through a video call, explained that he was the chosen referee the final and he explained to him that, as the star of the two of them, it was one of the best games to whistle in Spanish football.
As for Sánchez Martínez, he is already an old acquaintance of Spanish football with experience in Europe and in Spain where, without success, he has refereed several Clásicos.
