Spalletti, champion at last “with the protection of Maradona”

Date:

The Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti, Relieved to finally win the ‘scudetto’ that had eluded him during his Italian career, he assured the 64-year-old that “happiness ends here”.

“My greatest emotion is to see the Neapolitan fans happy. The problem comes here, they go through some moments in their lives thinking about this moment. These people have the right to live in these moments. Now I feel calmer, I have achieved this, this is where happiness ends”, declared an emotional Spalletti on DAZN at the end of the match against Udinese (1-1) which proved the ‘scudetto’ for his team.

For Spalletti, glory was fleeting and already thinking about next season. “For those who are used to working hard like me, it’s not easy. I didn’t completely explode with happiness. Joy is a fleeting thing. I won, yes, but I have to go back and work!”, he said with a laugh.

“Winning is mandatory at Napoli. They have seen great coaches, great champions, an audience that has seen Diego Armando Maradona play, where perhaps we had a bit of protection.”

“The goal, a fair reward for Osimhen”

Finally, Spalletti chose Victor Osimhen, author of the goal in Udine that is worth the title: “He is a very, very strong player, with heart and availability for the team. Even in the first half he chases everything. Wherever the ball goes, he always runs to chase it . like children. He has done a lot for the team and scoring the decisive goal for this ‘scudetto’ is a fair reward for him”.
