The organization of Roland Garros announced this Friday that the prizes of second Grand Slam on the 2023 ATP Tour calendar and the only one on clay reach to €49.6 million ($54.6 million), 12.3% more than in 2022.
The amount for the Roland Garros individual draws will increase by 9.1% from 2022, and the organizers said in a statement that they had “significantly increased” the prize pool to ensure a more even distribution among the players.
Players who lose in the first three rounds of the singles draw will receive 11-13% more this year, and organizers will also increase prize money for the three rounds of preliminary competition by 11.8% on average.
The male and female champions will receive 2.3 million euros each.
Prize money for the men’s and women’s doubles events also increased by 4%, organizers added.
The French Internationals will be held on the slopes of Roland Garros (Paris), from May 28 to June 11.
