He IFK Norrkoping Swedish, 8th in the women’s league of Sweden, is having a great campaign during his promotion. And part of the success he owes to his coach, Tor-Arne Fredheimthat despite admitting that at first it was difficult for him to change to train girls, now he is glad.
“I’m proud. I’ve been at the club for 18 years as a player, assistant coach, sports director, coach, board member and now a women’s coach. I’m the only one who has all the roles,” he explained smiling at the wheel press. When Tor-Arne Fredheim, who thanks all his players for being open and honest, decided to take the lead, Norrköping was a team far from the elite.
It was difficult for her in the beginning, but now she has taken over the team: “When you train girls, there are more emotions. There are more. They feel something outside, there is more communication. The girls want explanations and cry . But when you talk to them, when you talk and explain to them… Sometimes girls cry because they want feedback, while it’s hard for them.”
Tor-Arne Fredheim points out that “there are emotional storms and this is because they are not used to performing at this high level (from the promotion) in every training session. There will be ups and downs throughout the year.”
