Liverpool will fight to the last breath in the Premier League to secure a place in the Champions League 2023-24. The ‘reds’ made it seven wins in a row after going down 0-3 at the King Power Stadium at a table-bottom Leicester who are seeing their options run out to avoid relegation.
Just two days from the end of the Premier League, Liverpool are just one point behind Newcastle and Manchester United, third and fourth in the table, although both have a game to play. The ‘magpies’ will make up for it on Thursday at home to Brighton.
Leicester only appeared in the game in the first minutes of brutal pressure between the two teams in midfield. But Liverpool activated their vast offensive machinery -and that Darwin Núñez is sidelined with foot problems– as Alexander-Arnold and Fabinho they made contact with the ball.
That’s when Leicester, two points adrift of safety, evaporated and their fragile defence, along with their veteran captain. Johnny Evans starting for the first time since November, he was easy prey for the ‘reds.’ This time the top goal scorer was Curtis Jones in his first career double, while Mohamed Salah provided a ‘hat trick’ of assists, including a short free kick that Trent Alexander-Arnold nailed with a superb screwball.

Curtis Jones doubled within three minutes
The game was cut short in the final hour when Leicester let Liverpool run against it. Salah put in a band-to-band pass Curtis Jones, who was in a boat crossed the net.
Three minutes later, both connections became 0-2. Salah passed to Curtis Jones, who controlled from behind and, after turning, nailed the ball home. At 22, the ‘red’ youth squad has scored just 4 goals in the Premier until yesterday. Just leave the middle Daniel Iversen avoided 0-3 on a point-blank shot from Cody Gakpo.

Great free-kick from Alexander-Arnold
Leicester, without offensive arguments, retreated with whistles from their fans at half time and only at the beginning of the second half a shot from Harvey Barnes outshined Alisson. It was a mirage because Liverpool were condemned by Alexander-Arnold’s free kick and confirmed the favor he has done to his eternal rivals, Everton, who continue to score safety thanks to the defeat of Leicester.
